The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021 authorizes EPA to offer rebates to replace existing school buses with clean and zero-emission (ZE) models. Charlotte-based Albemarle Corp. is taking steps to make its planned lithium mine in Kings Mountain climate-friendly.

Under an agreement signed Wednesday, Albemarle will buy battery-powered mining equipment from heavy vehicle maker Caterpillar. In return, Albemarle will become the main supplier of lithium to Caterpillar for electric vehicle batteries.

Stellantis, the automaker behind Chrysler and Alfa Romeo among others, is buying almost a fifth of Argentina Lithium & Energy (TSXV: LIT) for $90 million.

The deal with the holder of four early-stage exploration projects includes a seven-year offtake agreement for up to 15,000 tonnes of lithium annually based on market prices, the companies said in a news release on Wednesday. Stellantis gets a seat on the lithium company’s board.

LONDON, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Nissan Motor Co (7201.T) said on Monday all its new European models will be fully electric and it plans to sell only electric vehicles (EVs) on the continent by 2030, joining a growing number of carmakers shifting to electric by the end of the decade.

E&E NEWS PM | Electric vehicles totaled 9.1 percent of auto sales nationwide in the second quarter, up nearly 38 percent from the same period in 2022, according to new data released Monday by the Alliance for Automotive Innovation.

Over the first six months of the year, EV market share rose 2.6 percentage points compared with the first half of 2022, while internal combustion engine vehicle sales fell by 4.1 percentage points, the trade group’s data shows.
